Bio

I'm a weird combination of passionate Harry Potter fan and dispassionate culture analyzer. I like reading sexy stories about the Harry Potter characters (grown up, of course - ew!), and I like analyzing why so many people find Professor Snape arousing. I went to a liberal university in a very liberal town (Rush Limbaugh has even insulted it - Santa Cruz, California), and I was turned on by the many ideas I found there. Questions such as these can really keep me up at night: why does capitalism have such a stranglehold on the U.S., and increasingly the world, and can anything be done about it? Is all activism increasingly pointless? Which, of the many that I've read, is the perfect Snape/Harry erotic story? And why? Is it icky to analyze why people have the sexual responses they do to various ideas? What are the subconscious psychological reasons behind sexual desire? Why do some things turn us on and other things disgust us? Why is slash fiction so popular, and if it really *is* that popular, why did it take me so long to find it? How could I have wasted so many years of my life without its soothing, creamy embrace? Why do I love it so much?

So essentially, I'm a sensualist and an intellectual, all rolled up into one. I'm NEVER bored - there are too many ideas out there!
